You’ve been around. I know you have seen the large amount of content from all corners of the internet, be it marketing techniques, the newest technologies, or dozens of other things that could make your head spin. It begs the question, how much of it works? What are the real, useful strategies? And, most importantly, what is working NOW?
Everything from AdWords to article marketing to social networking, how does it all fit in? What actions, and combinations of them, will actually bring you the kind of profit you’re looking for?
I think you see my point. This is what I am here to talk about, what works. And with that, let’s go into three basic ways to market that are working right now.
The first is Ezine Marketing. Some of you may not know what this is, some of you may. Trust me when I say that it is an extremely effective method of that goes directly into your target market, and on a broad scale. I’ll describe it in detail:
“Ezine” basically means “Electronic Magazine”. They are websites designed to deliver targeted content to a (often very large) list of subscribers. Nearly all Ezines offer some form of advertising, either through a “solo ad” email (an email, written by you, and sent directly to their subscribers) or even through basic newsletters.
I’m sure you may wonder, where do you find good Ezines? How do you know which are best? To begin with, you’ll want to find one that has LESS than 100k subscribers. That may sound odd, but let me explain. The majority of Ezines that have a subscriber count greater than 100k are often not targeted at all. They accept just about anyone and anything. So your advertisements will be seen by a much less targeted market, meaning less people visiting your website or products.
So you’ll want to find Ezines that relate to what you’re promoting, and have less than 100k subscribers. Well that’s fine, but where can you find them?
One great Ezine is Arcamax.com. They are fairly large, but offer extremely targeted advertisements and a number of options — something many Ezines do not. You can find the link to advertise on the bottom of their home page.
Aside from that, I would run a Google Search for “Ezine Directory”. You will find resources that have lists and lists of fantastic Ezines to promote on.
This leads us into our next marketing method, for those on a budget:
Video Marketing. MANY people underestimate the power of a good video. Take a look at YouTube nowadays, the currently most-viewed video has almost 200,000,000 views! You read that correctly. Imagine being able to capture only 1% of that sort of traffic? That’s still 2,000,000 people! What would that do for your business? A lot.
Now, how does one go about successful video marketing? It’s less complicated than it can seem. Heck, you don’t even have to appear in the video! A simple voice recording over some images is just fine.
You need to know a few specific things before going into this. First of all, people love advice and help, they love it to be easy, and they love it to be available. How do you give them all of this?
To begin with, you need to make informative videos that really bring honest help to a person. Something that really aids them in solving a problem or figuring something out. Whether it is a how-to, advice video, or whatever else, give the person something just for having watched the video. Then you can market your product at the end and in the description. Plus, it helps you build a name for yourself.
Next, it should be easy. Make it simple to follow, very carefully done, and simply to apply. You don’t want your viewer getting lost in a sea of complex terms or steps. Break it down and ensure complete understanding, that is one of the deal-sealers in video marketing.
And last, it shoud be available. This goes without saying. But how do you do that? Well, it definitely needs to be uploaded to video sharing sites, to begin with.
Notice I said “sites”. Yes, it is very important to put it on more than one site.
The following are a few great examples: YouTube, MetaCafe, Vimeo, Viddler, Google Video, MySpace Video, AOL Videos and MSN Video. You want to spread your video around to as many places as you can submit to, to ensure maximum viewership.
Next, you want to make it known using our final method:
Social Bookmarking. Examples of these kinds of sites are Squidoo, Digg, Del.icio.us, and others. They are places where you can upload nearly any kind of content and have it seen and rated by thousands of people on a daily basis. It is perfect for advertising on a budget. And even those with deep pockets should take great heed of it.
Well, there you have it. Three proven and sure-fire methods that will get your traffic rolling in within a few hours. I hope you have enjoyed this article. Remember, this information is useless unless you use it. Make it count.
